Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America’s 2018 Asthma Capitals™ report reveals that Dallas, Texas ranks 17th among cities in the United States having high pollen counts, which can be a risk factor for asthma. Pollen is a very common allergen triggering asthma attacks. If pollen is an asthma trigger for you or your child, AAFA offers the following actions you can take to reduce, or minimize, your exposure to pollen:
• Limiting outdoor activities when pollen counts are high
• Keeping windows closed during pollen season and using central air conditioning with
a CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® filter
• Bathing and shampooing before bed
• Changing and washing clothing after outdoor activities
